The Kapol Shreyas Mandal was established in Matunga, Mumbai for the welfare and benefits of Kapol members staying in Mumbai. To focus Kapol female members growth, Shree Matunga Kapol Shreyas Mahila Mandal was started. To promote the overall growth of Kapol female members, shree Natvarlal Shaamaldas Vora, who was leading Kapol industrialist who was staying in Matunga founded Shree Matunga Kapol Shreyas Mahila Mandal alongwith shree Maneklal bhai. It was established in 1972 and got registered in 1974. A well organized constitution of this Mandal was also made due to great efforts of Shree Amidas Dwarkadas Gandhi. 

With the instruction and guidance of Shree Natvarlal bhai and Maneklal bhai, shree Matunga Shreyas mandal and Mahila Mandal combine bought the place of Shanti Niketan. One can not forget the vast effort putted by shrimati Jayaben J Valiya who was one of the most active members of the Mahila Mandal. Shree Kantilal Dwarkadas Gandhi donated the place by inspiring her noble and smart vision.

As per the instructions of shree Maneklal bhai, Mrs. Pushpaben Natvarlal Vora became the first president of the Mahila Mandal. But, due to her intense busy schedule, Mrs. Jayaben J Valia was elected as the president unanimously. Under her guidance, Kapol Mahila Mandal developed. Mrs. Sushilaben Parekh and Mrs. Krishnaben Valiya also played vital role in handling the Mandal activities. They both quite satisfactorily handled the Mandal under the guidance of Mrs. Jayaben J Valiya. As per the aims of organization, the medium class female members were given great relief by the work of Species distribution, Stitching and few more. Many of the female members got employment because of these activities.

The era began with the selfless efforts of Mrs. Jayaben and Mrs. Sushilaben who inspired Kapol Ladies to help the medium class ladies members of organization to enhance their employments and earnings. This inspiration worked and the Mahila Mandal started serving female members quite nicely.

In 1982, “Bahujan Hitaay Charitable Trust” was commenced by the mother of Mr. Navnitbhai Kanakia (owner of National Transport), Mrs. Hiraben Kanakia. This trust got 80 G as well. To inform about the activities of the trust, a Post Card was sent to all members at every 3 month interval. This responsibility was fulfilled quite nicely by Mrs. Krishnaben Valiya. As the activities increased, the post card was replaced by tri-monthly “Saubhaagy Patrika” which was initially headed by Mrs. Krishnaben Valiya and then later on to Mrs. Dolarben Gandhi. Right now, Mrs. Jaswantiben Goradia and Mrs. Kumudben Bhuta are the editors and are managing the magazine quite deliberately. The registration process (Delhi) of the Mandal was done mainly by Mr. Harkisanbhai Gandhi. Even today, the printing of the magazine is done quite fantastically by his son Mr. Prashant Gandhi.

After few years of establishment of organization, Mrs. Muktaben Indulal Bhuva Sanskaar Mandir (Nursery) started with English medium which benefited so many people staying in the surrounded areas. Bhuva Family donated Rs. 41,000 for this Nursery.

In 1980, under the guidance of Mrs. Jayaben Valiya, “Brihad Kapol Mahila Mandal” was established. By the decision of all the Mandal heads, Mrs. Jayaben Valiya was confirmed as the chair person of the newly formed Mandal. She invited all the small Mandals of the caste in Mumbai and formed a working committee in their meeting. In 1981, they organized a cultural program at Bhaidas Hall and gathered all the Mandals of Mumbai suborns. This program was a grand success. Mrs. Sushilaben Parekh also worked quite efficiently as president of the Mandal. A religious tour was organized by the group on the occasion of “Adhik Maas” and due to that successful venture, the number of members reached to 800!!

Mrs. Jayaben Valiya retired after setting Shree Matunga Kapol Shreyas Mahila Mandal on the top. Mrs. Sushilaben Parekh followed her to nourish the group and the activities.

In 1997, the 25^th anniversary of the group was celebrated at Ravindra Natya Mandir. “Asht sakhaa darshan of Shriji Bawa and Prasaadi” programs were arranged successfully. It was supported by Mrs. Ushaben Harshadrai Mehta who lived in Matunga as she gifted 800 Dinner Dish (steel) to al the members of the group.

Since 2008, Mrs. Nirmalaben Mangaldas Kanakia religious tour has been organized. Since then, she is offering charity to the group members who join the tour. In this phase, Mrs. Sushilaben Parekh retired from the post due to her sickness. Mrs. Dolarben Gandhi was elected by all the members unanimously. She was offered life time presidential seat by the members. She is now President of the group.

“Bahujan Hitaay Charitable Trust” got 80 G since 2010. In the same year, “Mrs. Jashvantiben Shantilal Goradia Sahaay Nidhi” trust donated 1,00,000 rs to the organization and every six months many Kapol needy ladies members are served from this fund.

Mrs. Krishnaben V. Valia donated rs. 51,000 every year for the purpose of “Gnaan Yagn” in the memory of Late Mr. Vrindavanbhai and Mr. Anilbhai Mehta donated the same on behalf and memory of Mrs. Bhartiben Rameshbhai Mehta.

Mrs. Neelaben Harshadbhai Parekh has donated Rs. 51,000 to sponsor a good orator who can help the members by lectures.

So, the Mandal is heading with many generous and helpful activities. Recently, the Revision Classes, Music classes, Gujrati Folk music classes have been started by Mandal. Marriage Byuro also is one of the parts of the Mandal activities.  

Organization is now conducting many Cultural, Religious, Social and Educative activities. Yearly Twice, a small and a big Religious Tour is organized which gets grand success and appraisal from the 1500 Life Members. Every year all the activities are responded quite fantastically.
